Hag's tome

The Hag's tome was a book recovered in the Obsidian Pyramid following the Fishwives' defeat of the Hag on Hag Island.
Description
The tome was bound in pale leather and written in an ancient form of giant. Despite its old-fashioned grammar and spelling, Ilabrar was able to translate it. It was written in a type of shorthand that evolved as the book went on. The writings in the book were addressed to someone known as "Grammy."
Contents
The hag's notes in the book were extensive and often incoherent owing to the archaic language used. Ilabrar summarized the most salient points for the crew, and these have been transcribed below:
- The Hag had arrived some time prior on what came to be known as Hag Island. She was seeking something described in the book as "the gem" or "the stone."
- She reported the discovery of great evil within the Obsidian Pyramid. She also mentioned that below the pyramid lay the tomb of an ancient sorcerer, known in the book as the "lizard king" or "dragon lord."
- The Hag's efforts were stymied by one, or possibly two entities:
- "The Guardian," sometimes referred to as "The Entombed"
- "The Outsider," sometimes called "The Stranger"
- In order to help clear the pyramid of these evils, the Hag sought an artifact, but it was unnamed in the journal and unknown to the party.
- The Hag suspected the tomb was accessible from the outside, though it was unclear whether she had discovered the entrance.
