Obsidian Pyramid

A large obsidian step pyramid found in a clearing in the jungle on Hag Island. It appears to be carved from a single piece of stone. The Hag seemed to make her lair there, though she had sealed off the lower levels.

Even after the hag was defeated, however, the pyramid remained a threat. It had some power that lured beings of great magical potency. Both The Obsidian Gentleman and The Dark Lady offered gifts for its ultimate disposition; the first merely said it would be "off the board" and the latter offered a magical flying ship.

After the Expedition to Nindrol

When the Fishwives returned to Hag Island, the dragon Cal met them and instructed them to meet him at the pyramid. At sunset it changed to a massive blue stone tower in the shape of a crescent moon, which seemed to have some entrancing effect on Ka-ess. When the third moon reached its zenith, however, it turned into an unimaginably colossal statute of some ancient king, who filled most of the Fishwives with a sense of calm and a headache and Sathul with dread and unnatural vigor.
