Primeval Symphony

The Primeval Symphony is an orchestral work written by Ka-Ess Lizardkin, based on the melody and text of the Countersong, which was revealed to the Fishwives in a psychedelic vision on the plane of the Mushroom Kingdom. Hastily composed after returning to the Material Realm, the work was first performed the following night. Ka-Ess himself directed the inaugural performance, an elaborate ritual which banished the evil spirit of Unqfëa, Fisher of Souls into the God-Gaol within the Obsidian Pyramid, struck down by Cheeky Patch with the holy blade Telemnar at the climax of the fourth movement. The premiere featured Ilabrar Nightbreeze on pan-flute, Gulbog the Toothless on oboe, Ix-Ix the Illiterate on bassoon, Grumsh "Mushy" Barrelgorge on cornet, Fulbo Daffodil on elvish horn, "Deaf" Citron Bastardsson on harp, and the voices of the Blood-God Abbey Congregational Choir.
