Ilabrar Nightbreeze (from Elven il- 'mist' and -abrar 'crafter'), born Ilabrar Naïlo, was a half-elf druid. He gained notoriety as a crewmember of the brig-sloop The Satisfied Fishwife. He and his cousin Maglor are the sole survivors of House Naïlo.

Early Life

Ilabrar Nightbreeze was born in the forests northeast of the harbor town of Port Skaug to an elf mother, Silaqui Naïlo. His human father, Blath Lackman, left before he was born. Due to the elves' attitudes with regard to racial purity, Ilabrar and his mother were relegated to living on the outskirts of their village. The elves tolerated their presence because of Silaqui's elven heritage, but did nothing to support Ilabrar or Silaqui.

Throughout Ilabrar's childhood, Silaqui obsessed over Blath Lackman's abandonment of his son. Silaqui became so depressed that she entered a near catatonic state and eventually died when Ilabrar was twelve. In a lucid moment before she died, Silaqui presented Ilabrar with her blue pearl ring.

After his mother's death, Ilabrar was exiled from his elf village and began wandering the coastal forests where he was found, weak and malnourished, by the druid Frazil Masika. Masika nursed Ilabrar back to health at her home in the forest.

Lineage

The lineage of Ilabrar Naïlo.

Ilabrar learned of his royal lineage after recovering a family tree from the hoard of Valraxaxath; the book carried the sign of the seven-pointed spider star. Later, the skeleton librarian in [...] recognized his name and handed him a book with waterproof parchment pages, bound in sharkskin leather. The book was written over a century prior, 50 years into King Elashor's rule, and contained a history of the Kingdom of Nindrol.

Ilabrar was a direct descendant of King Aelar "The Wise" Naïlo and Queen Lia Cirethel and heir to the Kingdom of Nindrol. Though this was unknown to him until later in life, his cousin Maglor Naïlo was born at the exact same time as he, which meant that each had a claim to the throne.

Ilabrar is second cousin once removed to Empress Valanthe II Naïlo.

Ilabrar also discovered a volume of haunted locations around the Skaugan Main that had been written about 30 years prior. Written in dwarvish, the book told of an expedition a decade before the book's publishing that was led by a sea elven prince or lord [the dwarvish word left some ambiguity here]. The expedition set out to investigate the ruined Kingdom of Nindrol, but was never heard from again.
