Their Majesties' Most Worshipful Brotherhood of Stevedores

Everything in Port Skaug is from somewhere else, and the stevedores unload it. Their Majesties' Most Worshipful Brotherhood of Stevedores, correspondingly, is one of the most powerful political entities on the island, with its hand in every aspect of labor, shipping, storage and customs.

Leader

The Brotherhood was led by by former dockworker "Boss" Cooper, a native Skaugan and canny political operator. The center of Cooper's operations was a vast dockside district of piers and warehouses, colloquially known as the White Zone for its many utilitarian, whitewashed structures. Cooper's power, maintained by plebiscite and constantly under threat of a snap vote, was opposed not only by corporations and business interests but also ambitious young longshoremen trying to make their names in local politics.

Goals

The Brotherhood ensures that laborers are fairly compensated and both gives and receives the generous bribes necessary to the functioning of Port Skaug's economy.
