Empire of Doloriane

The Empire of Doloriane was an Elvish empire with several holdings and interests in the Skaugan Main. During the period of the Merchant Princes, the Empire controlled the island of Imerwel. Doloriane was known for its elegant and powerful fleet of frigates, which along with their mighty wizards made it one of the great naval powers of the region. Composed primarily of moon elves, the Empire maintained some relations with their cousins the sea elves of the Skaugan Main.

At the time of the Fishwives, Doloriane was ruled by Empress Valanthe II Naïlo, the Jewel of the West (The Satisfied Fishwife entering the possession of Ardrick Blackstone, Ilabrar Nightbreeze and Ka-Ess in early 218 Valanthe II).

History

Doloriane fought a brutal war against the minotaurs of the August Hierarchy^[when?]. After their unexpected defeat at the Battle of Esson, the largest naval engagement in recorded history, the Empress made peace with the Hierarch at the historic Conference of Bronze, resulting in the unexpectedly durable Treaty of Port Skaug.
