Halfling Refugee Crisis

The Halfling refugee crisis was a regional disaster caused by the August Hierarchy's invasion of Orlan. Driven from their homeland, the Halfling diaspora was forced to seek refuge in the surrounding empires, suffering from hunger, poverty and exploitation by unscrupulous profiteers. The increased demands placed on these societies as a result of the Halfling influx contributed greatly to anti-halfling sentiment in the region.

After the liberation of Hag Island, the Marquis de Rothshyr assembled a coalition in the Council of High Captains to establish a new Halfling homeland on the island, appointing Ka-Ess Lizardkin to the Council to ensure the success of the vote. This act elicited strong objections from Hierarchal diplomats.
