Ulthar, Keeper of the Past was a Librarian of the ancient Library of Gravenhall. A large, gray-skinned giant, he was also an amateur composer of giant-language poetry, known for his highly academic and symbolic erotic verse.

When visited by the Fishwives, Ulthar gave Ka-Ess a small chapbook of his poetry, later published by Spinecracker University Press under the title "Your Thigh, Like an Elven Ewer (Convex and Delicate)"
