The façade of Vanwamarta

Vanwamarta (from Elven, lit. 'the sorrowful place') was a townhome in the garment district of Port Skaug. Originally built by Berrian Amakiir for his family, it was later granted to High Captain Ka-Ess and the crew of The Satisfied Fishwife by Marquis de Rothshyr in recognition of their service on Hag Island.

Amakiir had made some sort of pact with a shadar-kai, Ashok, which resulted in the souls of his lost family being imprisoned in the crystal orb by the demon Charun. In revenge, Amakiir trapped Ashok in the basement of the house at the cost of his own life, where Ashok remained until he was defeated by the Fishwives.
