Battle of Esson: Difference between revisions

The <b>Battle of Esson</b> was a [[wikipedia:naval engagement]] between ships of the [[Empire of Doloriane]] and the [[August Heirarchy]]. The battle, believed by some historians to be the largest naval battle in the history of the [[Skaugan Main]], devastated both the [[Elven]] and [[Minotauran]] navies. Despite their massive losses the battle was considered a victory for the Hierarchy, as it dashed initial Elven expectations of a swift and decisive resolution to the [[Dolorianian—Hierarchal conflict]]. The disaster at Esson forced Imperial diplomats to negotiate a truce with Hierarchal emissaries in neutral [[Port Skaug]]. The resulting [[Treaty of Port Skaug]] gave the Hierarchy uncontested dominance of the Skaugan Main's eastern seas, and is often cited as a precursor to the Hierarchy's invasion of Orlan.
