Fearing treachery from within his own ranks, the Marquis himself was elsewhere at the time. [[Ardrick]], [[Ilabrar]], [[Ka-Ess]], and [[Sathul]] went to the cove as directed and encountered two (humanoids?) rowing a small boat ashore. When the boat was twenty yards from the beach, it was attacked by [[sea zombies]] who killed the rowers. The zombies were dispatched by the adventurers and burned under cover of Sathul's magical darkness.
