The was a militaristic, matriarchal theocracy, ruled by warring noble houses led by priestesses of the Spider Queen, Lolth. The most ancient and powerful house was House Nasadra, for whom the city was named.
The city was built in a giant cavern on petrified spiderwebs, with the richest and most powerful living near the top.
