The Desolation of Nindrol was the name given to the destruction of the Kingdom of Nindrol.
Background
Prior to The Desolation, King Mourn the Oathbreaker ascended to the throne following the mysterious disappearance of his mother, Queen Amnestria. The kingdom was wracked by a supernatural plague. It is said that the Oathbreaker made a pact with an evil power in an attempt to rid the kingdom of the pestilence. This bargain caused Mourn to descend into madness, however, and Elashor the Ceremonious attempted to take the crown from his elder brother.
To gather allies to his cause, Elashor married Miralee of the powerful drow House Nasadra. Miralee's sisters, Yvonell and Liriel, interceded on behalf of Elashor and were able to turn the tide of the war.
Elashor and Mourn dueled outside the walls of Nindrol, with Elashor emerging victorious but not without a grievous wound from Mourn's cursed trident, Raiafae, the Fisher of Souls. His wound never healed.
The wellbeing of the Kingdom of Nindrol is linked to the health of its ruler. Already weakened by plague and war, the kingdom further suffered due to Elashor's cursed wound.
