Goblins are a race of small, sapient bipeds. Often dismissed as "savages" by other races of the Skaugan Main, goblin society nevertheless has a rich cultural history, and the goblin language serves as a lingua franca for many related cultures, including orcs and hobgoblins. Thus, gobliphone literature can be said to include not only classical goblin poetry but also Orcish opera and other important literary traditions.
Because of their small size and nimbleness, goblins make excellent sailors, and were much sought-after as riggers, splicers and ship's-carpenters.
